Hottest days!

I've gone swimming till midnight the last two days. It's amazing. I can't believe I actually lived steps away from Christie Pits for a month last summer and never once took advantage. Thankfully it's not like I've moved completely out of range!

Actually Monday night, (which incidentally happened to be the hottest Toronto evening ever, the overnight low being 27) I attended the Christie Pits pool for sliding, sitting by water jets and participating in general pool tomfoolery. Last night however as we stepped foot in the park a raucous cheer erupted from the pool area which suddenly wasn't lit. Total blackout. One half hour walk later we were at the Alexandra Park pool and still had almost half an hour to swim before the 11:45 close time. Refreshing!

It's really been feeling like "SUMMER" which is fantastic. I haven't taken advantage of summer the way I should have been in the last few years so I'm so happy to be doing summer stuff! I've gone to the beach (all different ones) 4 times so far, and pool swimming 4 times too! I took a day trip to Elora a few weeks ago. Antique shopping and gorge hiking abounded! Ended up running into my friend Stephen from ATB at the bottom of the gorge. I've taken tonnes of pictures that I've yet to upload due to my lack of a pro flickr account which I should get as soon as possible.

This weekend... is... CANAL DAYS! The epitome of summer in all its many forms! The Canal! The Days! The celebration of MARINE HERITAGE. And,... I mean... Starship is playing.

WE
BUILT
THIS
CITY

Little under 2 weeks till my first vacation since I was 15. Oh man.

Mike and I took his nephew Lucas for a day on the town. Boats and trains and ducks!

Bunny's Birthday Beach Bash aftermath!

Maggie and I rock hard.

And that's all I got. I need to upload pictures from Tyler's 19th birthday party, also swims and mini putting and fun galore! Summer is fun! It just better get a little cooler so I can sleep right!

So I'm moving! I'm also bored at work. The combination of these two very important personal facts has prompted me to record this for the rest of livejournal eternity.

This will be a short post, because I have no access to pictures and I would rather keep you enthralled with a jpg or two rather than my questionable writing ability.

At any rate the facts are thus:

- I am moving Saturday.
- My new place has two kitties named Pico and Yoko.
- Pico and Yoko are meeting Billy and Eclipse tomorrow night... Interesting? Yes!
- I will have a window which looks out on to the street as opposed to a brick wall!
- I want to have an Dead Alive viewing party with classy type beverages soon to celebrate this important move.
- I will post some pictures after the move!

I've been carting stuff over by hand (the new place is only one major block away from my old place) daily, so I'm hoping I won't have to take more than two cargo van trips. I'm excited to get settled in and stop thinking about moving!

Also I'm going to see Riot 2006 tonight. I'm looking forward to it but even more eager to eat at Oakham house before hand. It's been a while. Oh... such a while.

Christmas Eve Festivity!

So there hasn't really been any festivity yet. In fact I've only been home for less than 12 hours but I figured that now was a good of a time as any to recap the excitement I've had up until this date in the realm of Christmas Tyme.

Parties!
There's been a few. The Grace St. party was crashed by the cops. 'Nuff Said.
Mark's party was incredibly festive but I really don't want to drink any more eggnog this year. I only had one glass there. That was enough for me to get my fill.
Ogilvy Christmas party was fun and a great free evening of food, drinks and a gift bag that had an orange and a Toblerone bar inside it! The Christmas video went over well... my few added changes made me feel proud about the whole thing. Also I danced up a storm for the first time in a long time and danced with the bosses too. I'm such a disgusting suck up. They were drunk.

Other Christmas Stuff!
I saw White Christmas at the Bloor Cinema! 3 bucks for a year membership and cider, nog (which I was already sick of) and baked goods too! So incredibly festive that I kinda teared up near the end. Look for an upcoming performance of "Sister's" by a couple of devoted siblings soon!

I'm tired and I've got some comics to read. You know how it is...

Staying out late is good for the soul.

With a wild excitement packed last few days I have come to realize that
I can fall asleep during a (quite nice) Bell Orchestre show. (Although
it wasn't straight out snoring, I did see about half of the show in an
eyes closed almost dream town way.) Thankfully I still really enjoyed
the show, and being able to sit in a pew was just the cream on the top
of my cheesy cake. I was a zombie all the way home and woke up far too
early this morning because I think my body realized I had things to do.
But really I just want to type random paragraphs to show off a few
pictures so...

The ad agency I work for produces the Imperial commercials. I don't
believe any of you would have seen much of their stuff on TV recently
but because I have the lucky opportunity of compiling huge reels of all
their ads that date back to the 1960's I am quite well versed in their
messages. For years they claimed that it made you feel like a queen /
king when you ate it and there would be these crazy trumpets and crowns
would pop on people's heads. For me however, I didn't need to eat any
Imperial to get my crown. I just needed to find the box full of crowns
that was tucked away at the end of a hallway on th 13th floor at work.

Ha ha! What fun! Look at my business casual type outfit! I look really snazzy... and like I don't own an iron.

And then later in the week I walked home with my new celebrity friend
and we went past the secret swing on the way to find out just what it's
like after the sun goes down. I was rude and got my grubby feet all
over the seat.

So the new discovery were these weird doors that were open and easily
accessible to hide in. What I discovered inside was that my camera is
really messed up and likes taking psychedelic bleeding pink photos! Yes!

And then out of the blue, Maggie invited me to go see Final Fantasy at
the Boat. Which I was absolutely thrilled about. Our spontaneity led us
to the most boatish feeling bar I've ever been to. But on the way I
introduced Maggie to something I had only been introduced to 2 nights
earlier... the Kensington Bass. Who knew a lamp post could rock....

Maggie looks like she's totally rocking out...

I look like I'm humping the pole.

I can rock out better than that, I swear. I'll prove myself someday. SOME DAY.

Now I will fly home with the swiftest of wings to Port where I will celebrate the aging of both of my parents at once.
Have I ever told any of you how much I love to transcribe? Really... it's a lot of fun. I don't think I do it enough.

So sure, it's been a while since the weekend but there's really no time
like the present to divulge the dirty details to you all...

We had a party... a sensual party... (but don't worry Thomer... no
puzzle was put together) and being the hot broad that she is, Renee got
a date out of the scenario. I'd tell when and where this date would be,
but you all would crash it, and that's totally rude. Also... I
took a bunch of pictures but after looking through them I decided they
were far too sensual to show in their entirety. As such I've condensed
them in a collage that may or may not allow your imagination to run
away with you...

Hmm, okay I think I built that up too much. But I mean... look at the fun we had! Grown men!?!? In girly slippers? HA!

In other news I still haven't decided what I'm going to be for
Halloween. I found these mustaches at Malabar made of "REAL HAIR". It
was quite a few years back that I dressed up as a 70's guy for
Halloween and I seem to recall I pulled it off really well. That time I
only had eyeliner to create my mustache, imagine me with a full bushy
Magnum P.I.!

Oh and just to let you know... I've got some good "recently learned at work" news:

Hepatitis A & B can be found not only in ice cubes, but in things
such as salsa, pedicure equipment, buffet food and dirty Caribbean
whores. Be careful out there folks!

Whatta night.

I have to say, first off, that the 2nd Annual "Tofurky / Renee gets old" party was a total success! Final count of guests ended up being 17. In fact I do have to say that this party very much indeed rivaled our housewarming party a month ago.

I believe that the reason for the overwhelming satisfaction of guests might have something to do with the SPREAD.

And by that I do mean the foodstuffs.

Phenomenal!

The lovely co-host of the evening. She ended up showing everyone her bra by the end of the night. It was friggin' hot.

It wouldn't be a Tofurky party if Bunny didn't come... she brought her friend Jane!

Maggie chilled with the cat.

And Mark had hot hair. So did his friend.

Tristan and Kristen BOTH CAME. Kristen stirred my lumpy gravy. Tristan gave me birthday beer when I totally didn't need anymore. It was awesome.

Look! The thrill of eating... all together! Look! Leah came too! She brought minty peas. (Bunny only ate a bun.)

After removing her own clothing, Renee started stripping the (hairy) guests.

And (hairy) Danny looked like this:

All in all, a total success. I mean,... now all we can do is look forward to the 3rd Annual Tofurky party right?

magwidgeon has some hot roof pics up on her journal. Check it yo.

And not to brag... but I had a slice of fresh mother made coconut cream pie for dessert this evening.

How long has it been?

A while, that's for sure. Actually I blame it mostly on the stress and hard labour involved in the moving process, and the steady stream of Mattel commercials that love nothing more but to devour my internet time at work. In fact, the only reason I'm typing this right now is that I'm rendering something.

In other news I am well overdue for a post that involves pictures. I like pictures, and I especially like friends who combine the wonderful world of blogs and pictures together. Because of this, I too like to create blogs that utilize pictures, but of course, I am at work, but let me assure you, I am thinking of wonderful pictures to post.

I actually brought my camera to work today, it's probably the last few nice days before the temperature begins to dip and I always see things I want to capture. I haven't had it for a while but I feel like I'm getting a bit of a creative itch recently, drawing, photos... I dunno. I should really make another stop motoin. I'll have to break out the clay and see where it takes me.

This is so horribly dull. In better news I'm taking the ferrets home for the very first time as of this weekend. Renee and I are renting a car because Renee is staying with her daddy at Niagara's premiere camping facility, Yogi Bear's Jellystone park! Shucks! I always wave to Yogi on the way to the movie theatre!

I'm attempting to coordinate a night on the Port Colborne town for Friday night. Winchester, Winjammer, canal roamings. If Renee is going to be in Port for the first time ever, we better do it right.

Other than that... recently I've bought cool new boots, gone spinning at the gym (i'm extra fit), and procrastinated about transcribbin!

I need new icons...

Power was only off for about 10 minutes here at work yesterday but the noticeable absence of shyzer from MSN alerted me to the fact that things might not be the same back at the shack. And it was true as I soon found out.

SO!

Instead of going home to an evening of transcribbin' I went back to a stuffy, fanless, quiet and increasingly dark home. To capitalize on the situation I thought it would be a perfect time to go do some chores so I packed up all the beer bottles that had been stagnating about and stuffed them in the cart for a jaunt to the beer store.

4 separate people, all shady Sherbourne housing co-op folk informed me that the beer store on Gerrard was closed. It was very nice of them and I really appreciated it, until of course the one creepy dude who leered down on me offered to keep me company on my walk to the farther beer store on Parliment.

Ha! Ha ha! No thanks! I'm going to the pet store anyway! I smiled!

Oh he really wasn't that creepy. But it was kind of nice to get past the Gerrard area so people were no longer shouting at me from porches.

So... Beer Store! Pet Store! And then down to the pet value for some cheap litter and... closed due to power outage. Bah. In my frustration I instead purchased some Maxx Scoop. They can use that for a day.

So I went home... started to scribe and the power went off. So I sat around, went to Oakham for some combo of the above and the power came back on! So we went home and played Bard's Tale and the power went off. Then it was bedtime and I fell asleep and the power came back on! And then Tristan turned the lights off and set the alarm, and the power went out! Ha! This can go on forever!

So it was basically JUST like the Blackout! Except the blackout for me was my fan not even coming to a stop and then starting again cause Port Colborne is the shit yo!

Speaking of Port Colborne... seems like NOW IS THE BEST TIME. Whoever came up with that slogan is a certifiable genius.

p.s.

Thanks to Danny for calling to wake me up when I was sans alarm... he's the best boss a gal could ever have.

In the spirit of being bored at work... I'm going to delight the world with a rare posting!

Things I have recently enjoyed:

1. Going home.
I've gone back twice recently and the existence of my cousin's pool is a thing of wonder. I have been home maybe 6 days or so in the past few weeks and every day I was home I managed to get in that pool. Not only did I get to frolic in water with my cousins, I also got to play copius amounts of Warcraft 2. Let me not forget that I need to bring Warcraft 3 home and distribute it so we can play against some decent AI for a change. Yeah, we can all play against each other with Warcraft 2, but Tyler's so good it's not even worth it!

2. Pets.
This includes Billy, Eclipse and Pretzel of course, and let's not forget Zoe. Oh Sydney and Gracy too. Pretty much any animal I've been in contact with over the last month or so. Billy and his toilet lounging. ( I need to get those pictures from you Maggie ) Eclipse and his spray bottle dancing. Pretzel and her dive into the pool & subsequent balancing on the inflatable raft. Zoe and her firm dislike of Pretzel & cat like clinging ability when she's afraid of the water. Sydney and her sexy sexy looks. And Gracy and her chinchilla like pooping.

3. Redline.
Being here full time is as nice as can be. Except for my hairy boss! Ha! Today I've captured a 2 hour video of guys talking about beer and in particular Waterloo dark. I'm now making it into an MPG which still has an hour to go before it's completed. Woo hoo!

4. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Went and saw this last night. The IMAX experience. Wow! Did you know that the IMAX screen is as tall as FIVE HOUSES? If you didn't you should probably pay 13 bucks to go see the laser show before the IMAX movies. At any rate, I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Part of me wants to see them make a Great Glass Elevator sequel,... the other part of me want them to not do that so my Vermicious Knids stay relatively unknown. (Yeah I'm a snob like that.)

Summer has been good so far, but I still haven't been to the beach. Perhaps I'll have to take a day out of Canal Days to go. I know.. why would I leave the most amazing festival ever... I'll have to see what my mood is like.

Whatta post!

Hi Everybody!

So today I put on a flowy type skirt and I rode my bike to the ol' ogilvy and then I took my sandals off. Now I'm sitting cross legged in my chair and it's quite satisfying.

Not so satisfying is the fact that I have no idea what is happening here and I *might* be here full time next week, or I *might* just be in on thursday and friday. This would require me to pick up some more shifts at ATB which I don't necessarily want to do. Also I sure as hell hope I hear something from Neat to confirm my employment with them. Some Neat folk are back from vacation today so perhaps this is a sign that I'll be hearing soon? Hopefully? Perhaps?

My life has gone astray with Guybrush Threepwood to blame, as he totally has caught me in his hypnotic piraty spell. But damn, seriously, I've been so lame in my adventure playing in the last x number of years. I would play and as soon as I got stuck I would do a quicky search on the internet for a walkthrough. Sure it made it a lot quicker to play but every single time I opened up that browser my heart would cringe. SO! I'm not doing that this time, but my puzzle solving muscles have fallen by the wayside and I frustratingly cannot for the life of me figure out where to get something crunchy to feed Captain Blonde Beard so his gold tooth falls out... OR how to get rid of that crappy ass Cabana boy.

What else do I have to do?

-clean the damn apartment. Shit... dirty dirty dirty. I need to get things organized, proper.
-buy paper towels, I always run out and the ferrets require me having them
-buy ferret FOOD (which is why I rode my bike today to work, so I can go right after)
-go to Canadas Wonder Land. I love that place so much.
-go back to Port sometime soon, ( i wasn't there long enough )
-try to make sure that whatever I do for work this summer does not make me miss out on CANAL DAYS
-you know... become an adult.

Whatta list!

Oh and by the way, I think we should take a road trip and go on this ride!@#@!$

Or maybe just go somewhere that isn't here.

Tres Bien!

I've had pretty much nothing to do all day long, but I supposed it is enjoyable to be paid for my boredom.

I'm here all week, but this won't last for long. I'm hoping that I can at least get one more full week before I have to go back to the ATB.

Saw Hitchhiker's guide last night. Meh. Fairly so so. In more thrilling news I beat "The Island of Dr. Brain" in one day! HA! I am a BRAIN MASTER!

Such a lame post. Posts without pictures are somewhat empty feeling.

American Express is about to launch this new campaign called "My Life, My Card". It features amazing superstars like Elle Degeneres and Robert DeNiro doing things and then proclaiming that American Express helps them do it. I'm recording three of these commercials, on repeat onto a 2 hour tape, which in turn means I have nothing to do! Woot!

\/\/00+ ???

Bought some Tara tickets today! I totally wasn't on the ball with that at all. Didn't even check out the actual date till Wednesday where I realized that I was scheduled to work that night. After some phone calls and pleading I was able to switch. At the moment I might be the only person from my group who is actually going to be at the event.

Got home from work last night and sat down to read one of the last books for my Studio 2 internship. I should have seen it coming, I'm terrible for reading in bed. Woke up at around 11:30. Sigh.

I've a hankering for Brood Wars. Replaying Starcraft isn't as fun the 8th time around, but as my memory serves me I don't believe I've even finished the campaigns in Brood Wars. Speaking of Blizzard, I've got to pick up Warcraft 3 next time I go home as well. Don't let me forget to get those!#@!

I'm so gonna miss the Pipe this summer.

In fact it was the longest running book show in North America, this being it's 16th season.

I feel sorry for my friends who have lost their jobs and my faith in TVO has really dropped considering the way they handled the situation.

In other news, I'm unsettled. Thinking nothing of it, other than that he has some shitty roommates who leave the door open in the winter, he turns up all the heaters, shuts the door and does usual Tristan computer stuff.

12:30 pm
Mark gets up... goes swimming.

1 pm
I call from TVO. Tristan answers, asks why I left the door open this morning. After I tell him I had nothing to do with that we both assume Mark did and forget about it.

9 pm
I get home from work. Tristan wants to go get food and starts to look for his wallet. Not finding it, I start to help look.

10 pm
Mark get home. I tell him he left the door open today. He says he wasn't even up then. DUM DUM DAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH.

So then we investigated. Seems as if they stole both Tristan and my CD booklets. That's it. We figure they may have been freaked when Mark's alarm went off and took off. Mark isn't sure if he remembers if the door to our place was locked or unlocked when he left, so we're not sure if they left by the balcony, or if they ran through our apartment and down out the door.

So I've lost.... are you ready for this... all first 4 Big Shiny Tunes. The recent Pink Floyd 2 CD thing, my Prodigy CD, my Offspring CD, my Romeo and Juliet Soundtrack, my Simon and Garfunkle CD and micelaneous mixed CD's and burned CD's. Tristan lost his wallet, which had social insurance, drivers license, health card, library card, hospital card and a $60 check from work. His CD booklet was huge though and had tonnes of CD's, all indie stuff, some worth quite a lot.

AND WE LOST OUR SENSE OF SAFETY FOLKS. THAT'S RIGHT.

Yeah, we didn't lose much, it could have been much worse. But what really freaks me out is that someone climbed onto our balcony from who knows where, and from what the snow looks like, it's knocked off our balcony ledge and the ledge of our NEIGHBOUR. So... did they try to rob the neighbour and not succeed? OR... WAS IT OUR NEIGHBOUR?

Hmm.

HMMM.

Also, I'm kinda worried that Marks alarm scared them and they'll come back later for the good stuff that they didn't steal, like the computers and stuff.

Cops still arn't here.

We gotta buy like... 65 locks.

    <lj:music>THE NEW BRUSSEL SPROUTS! *applause*</lj:music>

So for the first time since I started this new job I don't have anything to do.

Next door they're working on some Imperial Margarine commercial where a woman proclaims, "Put your hands together for, the new BRUSSEL SPROUTS!"

so... I'm... listening to that.

Going to see Ong Bak the THAI WARRIER tonight. Not sure if I spelled it right and I don't feel like IMDBing it to correct myself. At any rate I'm pretty excited. I recieved two free tickets to the movies from my Imprint internship for Christmas so I can use those finally. Bunny says the warrier jumps a lot. Over cars and stuff.

Usually when I post I have some amazing news to tell, but I don't really, so I hope I don't bore anyone.

I've been itching to go on a trip. I havn't been on one since New York back in high school and that was quite some time ago. Maybe I could rent a car, or even take a plane. I've never done that.

Where should I go? Keep in mind I'm a money grubbing poor kid.

    <lj:music>FF musics. Thanks Maggie!</lj:music>

Tomorrow I have around 25 or so shots to finish up the animation. Better get to bed so I can actually do that.

But before I go, let me welcome the newest member of the Goulet family:

Pretzel! She's a miniature poodle like Sammy was, and such a beautiful creamy colour. I'm going home next weekend for a day to see her. I need to soak up as much tiny puppy as I can. I should bring the ferrets to visit her, see if the get along.

As a side note, I was awoken this morning by a peculiar alarm clock.

5:45 am

Outside the door: MOOOOOAAAAAAAAN. MOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNN.

Me: What the hell?

Outside the door: NOOOOOOOOOOO. MOOOOOOAAAAAAAAN. *huoooorkk* MOOOOOOOOAAAAAAN. *blueghhk*

Me: Um...

Outside the door: *flush*

Me: Thank God...

Outside the door: NOOOOOOOOOOO. MOOOOAAAAAANN. I DOOOONNNNN'T REMEMMMMMBERRRR. *kaplooough*

Me: Oh man.

Outside the door: MOOOOOOAAAAN. HEEELLLLPP MEEEEEEEEEE.

At about 6:15ish I finally decide to get up to check on the cries for help, to find Mark (who happens to be an all around great roommate) strategically sprawled halfway in and halfway out of the bathroom on the floor.

Me: Hey... Mark?

Mark: Uhhhhh. Have I been moaning for the last hour?

Me: Um, yeah. Are you okay? Can I get you anything?

Mark: A blanket.

So I covered Mark with a blanket and got him a pillow, and when I woke up to go animate at 9:30 he was snug as a bug in the exact same spot. Awww.

I told Mark it was a worthy enough event for a post and so I've delivered. Thank you Mark for a morning I'll never forget!

<lj:music>My sister playing Miner VGA (how festive!)</lj:music>

I believe that this might be the first Christmas ever where I've had stress and pressure.

I know everyone says that those things come at the Christmas season, but not for me. My family is so great that all they ask from me is my participation in family events and oh we laugh and have jolly times.

But this year I've laden myself down with CHORES. I've truged through 4 of the 16 Neat tapes that I have to transcribe. I still have to read The Meschino Optimal Living Program and write a summary for my internship and I have to make clay veggies and breakdown the entire animation that we start shooting on January 3rd.

But over all, I'm not complaining! I'm a sucky loser who stays optimistic, especially around Christmas. Also, I know I'll get it all done and still have time for pleasantries and merriment.

The snow stopped so my sister and I will spend the night sleeping at our Grandparents house which its tradition. I think we only missed one year a couple years back when there was a huge snow storm. Christmas at my grandparents is fantastic! We have tidbits and snacks all day. Special dips for chips and crackers, tonnes of fancy cheeses. I even bought a special dandilion wine jelly back from ATB for everyone to try. I hope it's as good as I remember the sample being.

Stockings and presents and the candlelight service at church. I love singing silent night while we hold the candles. When I was a kid just holding something flaming was a thrill.

Oh how sentimental I'm getting... ahem...

excuse me...

And have a very Merry Christmas!

Season 3 of Star Trek: TNG is the worst season!

I've watched about 8 episodes in the past two days,... okay I'm not that busy, but I've had to keep watching more just to get to a good one that satisfies me. They're all about diplomatic problems between state governments and rebel factions who have been treated with injustice. A couple of them are about Romulan issues and the Neutral Zone. Thank God Gene Roddenberry died during season 5, a great year.

Enough with the Star Trek, too often I reveal how much of a geek I truly am.

At any rate, school is pretty much finished for the semester. I only have one exam and a show outline to do up for my writing practicum course. We're going to have some build days for the practicum and I'll have to finish up some detailed breakdown sheets sooner than later.

My Christmas tree is set up, my ferrets are sleeping in the room and the balcony is covered in snow. That reminds me... I need a shovel. And a velour jumpsuit for Christmas parties.

Thanks Maggie for having your party last night.

I've always been a sucker for looking through stuff like grade 3 journals. I can watch home videos and stuff like that for hours. My mom always said, "don't make people watch that, it's boring." But maybe, someday we can all watch home videos and celebrate in the boringness. Mark knows... I think I made him watch all of my Amazing Discoveries shows from when I was in grade 5-7. I was a professer named Bon-Bon who travelled about learning the mysteries of the earth while producing commercials in between educational segments.

I'm rambling.

I gave the ferrets baths today! I thought it would have been much more of an ordeal but they took it beautifully. I guess its easy when you can control them with one hand. They would scramble if they were able to reach the lip of the sink, but most of the time they just let me do what I was doing.

After the bath was the most fun. Both of them freaked, running through the towels, rolling around on their backs. I was able to get some video of Eclipse.

Billy was even crazier though, he dragged himself along with only his front paws letting his back ones trail behind him. I suppose in a couple of months when I bathe them again I'll have to catch that.
